Anotace

The aim of the course is to provide students with basic information about the nature, population, economy and regions of the Czech Republic. Lectures include a brief introduction to the geography of the Czech Republic with an emphasis on the complex relation between nature and human society. In the second part of the course, which is dedicated to the Czech regions, in addition to the basic geographic information also information about current environmental problems of individual parts of the Czech Republic are given to students.


Knowledge: Students are able to describe and explain various physical-geographical and socio-economic characteristics of the Czech Republic. Students are able to give details and describe regions of the Czech Republic, they also can explain their significance within the tourism of the country.


Skills: Students will be familiar with the basic geographical concepts and they will be able to analyze various survey data.


General competence: Students are able to use critical thinking skills and they can speak in English about related geographical topics.
