The aim of the course is to help students understand macroeconomic modern theories and evaluate different macroeconomic policies. Emphasis will be laid on the significance of understanding macroeconomics for explaining current real world. Students will be familiar with the principles of modern macroeconomic theories. The starting point of the course is measuring the value of economic activity and problems connected with economic equilibrium. The folowing part of this course explains the nature of money, inflation and unemployment. The last part deals with the economic function of the state and the basic context of fiscal, monetary and external business policy.
Assessment methods
Attendance at lectures is recommended, attendance at seminars is controlled. The way of substituting of missed lectures and seminars is fully in the teachers’ competence.
Conditions for awarding the course-unit credit: 1.Active participation in seminars (two absences during the semester is tolerated). 2.Successful completion of a credit test with more than 60 % correct answers.
Form of examination: Written only. The final test is cumulative, covers material from the whole course. Time for elaboration: 60 minutes.
Grading rules: A 100-93 %, B 92-84 %, C 83-75 %, D 74-67 %, E 66-60 %, F 59 - 0 % .
