  • Numeral systems, representation of numbers in different numeral systems, important encoding types
  • Logic circuits, logic operations, logic gates. Boolean algebra, minimization of logic formulae.
  • Realization of logic gates
  • Combinational logic circuits. Decoders, multiplexers, demultiplexers, comparators, arithmetic logic circuits
  • Synthesis of combinational logic circuits
  • Sequential logic circuits - flip/flop circuits, shift registers, counters, transition table, hazards
  • Synthesis of sequential logic circuits
  • Memories, semiconductor memories, feroelectric memories
  • Programmable logic circuits, programmable logic arrays (FPGA), VHDL language
  • Introduction to microprocessor and microcontroller technology, buses, RISC, CISC
  • Digitization and reconstruction of analog signals, aliasing. Sample/hold circuits, AD and DA convertors, digital synthesis, oversampling
  • Basics of discrete signal theory, Z-transform
  • Digital filters, synthesis of IIR / FIR

Anotace

Introductory course to the digital systems, beginning with basic logic operations, through combinational and sequential logic, to memories, programmable circuits and microprocessors. Basics of discrete signal theory and digital filtration are given.
