Sylabus
- 1. Introduction of tourism (tourism and its fields, influences in tourism, specifics of running business in tourism, organizations operating in the field of tourism). 2. Regional strategies (definitions and historical development and motives of regional policy, approach and tools of regional policy). 3. Regions in the Czech Republic (regional structure of the Czech Republic, regions in the Czech Rep., touristic regions). 4. Regional statistics and analysis (tourism statistics, operation and economics of tourism, Tourism Satellite Account). 5. Strategic planning of regional development (regions and public administration, land-use planning, strategic plan, various levels of strategic planning. 6. The potential of tourism and its activation (understanding of the tourism potential, break-down of the tourism potential, degrees and sections of the tourism potential, zones and types of the total tourism potential). 7. Permanently sustainable development of tourism (historical overview, positive and negative features of tourism, unsustainable growth and sustainable development of tourism, Agenda 21). 8. Planning of tourism development (region and planning, methodology for preparation of the plan, planning process, a sectional operating plan, an example of tourism development).

Anotace
The aim of the subject is to prepare students in terms of practice and theoretical knowledge for their potential carreer in government administration bodies, development agencies and EU structures; we shall focus on planning and development of tourism and on the work in organizations operating in the field of destination management. The lectured topic includes a complex view of planning alternatives and options in the field of control and development of tourism. The contents of the subject focus on administrative and legislative issues and analysis and synthesis of solutions to development issues in the field of tourism.
