Sylabus
- The aim of this course is to provide comprehensive overview of usage of e-commerce in hospitality and tourism. It will establish solid foundations of development of IT technologies toward development of reservation systems and GDS as pre-requisite for the development of internet based e-commerce. Internet is analysed not only as promotion tool, but also with regards to changes with the second generation internet and reservation and interaction options for hotels, airlines, car rentals and travel agents. Main OTA will be analysed and their function on e-commerce travel market: expedia, travelocity, hotels.com, hrs.com. priceline,booking. Development of global and regional review and comparison portals - tripadvisor, kayak, trivago. Development and use of social networks for tourism - Facebook, Twitter, Instagram. E-commerce applications for smart phones. Virtual reality and games application for tourism, SEO and Google analytics usage for making marketing decision, content management and advertising online - videos, banners, youtube channel, travel bloggers and influencers online.
