Anotace

The aim of the course is to acquaint students with basic concepts and tools of management (profit or non-profit, small, medium 
and large organizations) and to create the basis for further development of acquired knowledge and skills in other courses of study
and gain a comprehensive view of various fields of management. The lectures are focused on individual management functions,
past evolution and future trends in management and management theory and other knowledge related to organization management.
Seminars are oriented on the application of knowledge to the case studies from existing management practice, their presentation
and discussion about possible solutions of problems and presentation and discussion of seminar works of students focused on
processing of basic topics of the course in selected existing companies or organizations.

Knowledge: Student is able to explain difference between mission and vision statements and to perform an external and internal audit. Student is further able to describe types of strategies and is able to explain and to describe process of strategy formulation, implementation and evaluation.


Skills: Student is able to develop mission and vision of a company, to perform an external and internal audit and is able to use techniques and methods of strategic management (matrices EFE, IFE, SPACE, BCG…). Student is also able to formulate feasible firm strategy.


General competencies: Student is able to work with information sources and to create literature review. Student is also able to critically evaluate information and is capable of teamwork. Student is also able to interpret and present clearly achieved results.
